Rabbi Daniel Cohen

Senior Rabbi

Rabbi Daniel Cohen came to TSTI in 1992 while still a student at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York. Ordained in 1993, he remained at TSTI as Assistant, then Associate Rabbi and has served as the congregation’s Senior Rabbi since 1999. A graduate of Duke University, Rabbi Cohen holds a M.A. in Hebrew Letters and Rabbinic Ordination from HUC-JIR. He earned a DMin in Pastoral Counseling from HUC-JIR and the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health in 2001. Rabbi Cohen spearheaded the integration of technology at TSTI and is active in efforts to promote a democratic and religiously tolerant society in Israel. Learn More

Rabbi Alexandra Klein

Assistant Rabbi

Rabbi Allie Klein joined TSTI in 2015 after her ordination from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR). She served as the co-coordinator of Synagogue 3000's pilot initiative with Jewish young adults, was a pastoral counseling intern at Central Synagogue in NYC; the student rabbi at Beth Sholom Temple of Fredericksburg, VA; and the rabbinic intern at DOROT in Manhattan, a social service organization serving the elderly. Rabbi Klein has studied innovative religious practices in both Jewish and interfaith settings. In 2007 Rabbi Klein received a B.A. in Psychology from Haverford College. Learn More

Cantor Rebecca Moses

Cantor

Cantor Rebecca Moses joined TSTI in 2012. She was invested as a Cantor in 2009 by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City, where she received her master’s degree in sacred music in 2008. She holds a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Among other innovative projects, Rebecca leads our TSTI band made up of talented congregants. Learn More

Cantor Joan Finn

Cantor

Cantor Joan Finn, a member of TSTI since 1984, attended two summer programs of Para-Rabbinic study at Hebrew Union College. She studied at Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Hawaii for her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance. Joan received her Masters of Music degree in Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She was invested as Cantor in 2010 by the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. Over the years, Joan has bestowed her love of trope to hundreds of TSTI b’nai mitzvah students. Learn More

Cantor Ted Aronson

Cantor (emeritus)

Cantor Ted Aronson was invested as Cantor in 1967. TSTI is his first and only pulpit. In 1970, he received his Religious School Principal certification from the HUC-JIR and a Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University in 1986. In 2001 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from HUC-JIR. Cantor Aronson brought many and various musical styles to our worship experience and has been intimately involved with Israel his entire career, coordinating programs between schools in Israel and TSTI’s Religious School. Rabbi Harvey Goldman

Rabbi (emeritus)

Rabbi Harvey Goldman served as senior rabbi of TSTI from 1985-1998. He was instrumental in shaping a number of programs and groups including the Renaissance Group, which to this day is an active and vital arm of our temple community. Learn More
